Overnight Boarding

We care for your dog on an individual basis to ensure comfort and to give you the peace of mind knowing your dog is well cared for while you travel. We are now a Fear Free Certified Boarding and Daycare facility!

Remember to book ahead (at least 4 weeks) to ensure that your dog has a spot to stay! We book full quickly during prime travel periods (February-April & June-September) and long or holiday weekends. We have an online form for quick, easy booking!

Thinking of boarding with us? Come visit and bring your dog! A meet and greet before your dog's stay is not required to board with us but some owners prefer to visit beforehand. There is no visitor access permitted in the boarding house as it stresses the dogs out and we try to maintain as fear free and stress free of an environment as possible for the dogs in our care. No weekend visits. Limited to one 15 minute visit.

The rooms are 3ft wide by 4ft deep. The suites are 5ft wide by 4ft deep. The suites can comfortably fit two large breed dogs (i.e.German Shepherds) or 3 small breed dogs (i.e. Yorkshire Terrier). Only dogs from the same household can occupy the same kennel by request. All dogs in the same kennel are still fed separately to ensure they are eating well.

BATH & tIDY SERVICE

We offer a “Bath & Tidy” service that includes a bath, brush out and blow out only. No cuts or trimming! It’s just a simple bath, nothing fancy - just a clean, great smelling dog to take home.

The Bath & Tidy service is offered as an add-on service for Overnight Boarding. The price will start at $35 and be based on the dog’s size, temperament and coat. Please ask for a price for your individual dog. Only professional grade shampoos, conditioners and sprays will be used.

If you would like your dog to get the Bath & Tidy service after their visit, please let me know at drop-off.

Feeding: Your dog should come with their regular dog food in a sealed, labelled container to minimize chances of belly upset. Food allergies, dry kibble and raw diets are welcomed. If you decide not to bring your own dog food or forget, you will be charged $7.00+tax/day for dog food.

Medication: Any medications are no problem. This includes oral and topical creams, pills and needles. There is also no extra charge for delivery of medications, it is part of providing quality care for your dog.

Exercise: The dogs are exercised in the communal outdoor run either in small groups of 2-5 or individually, depending on the dog's requirements. First check in the morning is between 7 & 8am. Then they are out late morning, after lunch, mid afternoon, suppertime and evening. The weather (extreme heat or cold) can limit the amount of time (not frequency) the dogs are outside.

Safety: The fences are all 6 foot high, heavy gauge chain link fences. Dogs with behaviour problems are welcome as we are very experienced with dogs that have issues. They are required to have a visit prior to their stay. The facilities are regularly cleaned and sanitized to prevent the spread of flu, bacteria, parasites and viruses between dogs. We use Prevail which is a broad spectrum sanitizer, fungicidal, bactericidal, virucidal and tuberculocidal. It is a non-toxic, non-irritating disinfectant cleaner used commonly in animal shelters and veterinary clinics to help prevent the spread of disease.

Comfort: The kennel has air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter to maintain a comfortable temperature all year round. The kennels are each lined with rubber mats that stay cool in the summer and hold warmth in the winter. Blankets and/or cots are provided to dog who do not arrive with beds. Water is available at all times unless otherwise requested or required. Treats balls, puzzles, peanut butter Kongs and non-edible toys are provided to dogs who are allowed and accustomed to using them. We play special music adapted for canine ears 24 hours a day in the boarding house and Adaptil Calm Home Diffuser to help make your dog feel relaxed and provide a strong sense of security and comfort during a typically stressful time.

Intact dogs: Yes, we take intact dogs but our policy is they will not be kennelled together if over 6 months old and we will not accept a bitch in heat or pregnant.
